How much longer

"I only have a few minutes left of break, I just wanted to stop by and see you, on a personal level. Not as my boss." Andrea said, with a big grin. As she walked into his ready room.
Harley dropped his padd and smiled widely at her. “I am glad you did! I was just wishing that I could see you. Please, sit down!”
"sorry for not being all formalized reporting to you but this isn't really one of those type of meetings you know. I was kind of hoping we could sit over here on the sofa and chat sitting in that chair makes you feel like going to reporting to you and I'm maybe in trouble or something." Andrea said with the giggle to her tone.
Harley stood, a grin on his face. “No official titles are needed.” He came around the desk and took her hand. “I like the way you think.”
"I I hope so, otherwise you're just wasting your time with me." Andrea pointed out to him with the sarcastic grin on her face.
Harley led her over and they sat down in the couch. He leaned over and kissed her. “I should have thought of this.”
"The kiss or the couch?" Andrea asked, as she warmly embraced his kiss. She had a big grin on her face.
“Both of them,” Harley grinned, his eyes lit up. “It seems like forever since Iast saw you.”
"Been less than 24 hours." Andrea said, with a big grin. The boy had it bad. She referring to love. She knew he cared for her deeply.
“It isn’t a secret,” Harley said with a smile. “I am crazy for you.”
"Dunno, I might have been fooled." Andrea suggested with a teasing voice. As she leaned in for another kiss.
Harley pulled her close. “Just so there is no mistake I am crazy in live with you.” His lips then met hers.
"Slow down turbo, we have a day to get through." Andrea said, as she took a scooch over, to create a little space. "I wanted to motivate you, not make you tunnel vision. Maybe this was not a good idea." She said, trying to prove her point to him. There had to be more than just sex and kissing.
“I wasn’t trying to go fast,” Harley said seriously. “I just wanted to tell you how I feel. It’s nice to just be able to sit and talk about how we feel and just be together.”
"You call this talking?" Andrea said, with a concerned look on her face.
“Well not the kisses,” Harley replied. “But that was a greeting. I couldn’t do anymore than that if I wanted to, I am on duty.” His eyes met hers. “We have a few minutes I thought it might be nice to just talk.”
"I seriously doubt that. If I started to strip, you would totally hit this. And you know it." Andrea said, being a little bit of a tease, and to call him out on his nonsense.
“I would definitely want to,” Harley wasn’t going to lie. “And it would be hard not to, I probably couldn’t control myself.” He knew he definitely shouldn’t but he promised never to be dishonest with Andrea.
"There is hope for you, my love." Andrea said, with a big grin.
“I believe so,” Harley smiled. “I was sitting here looking how far I have come from when I was promoted to first officer.” He looked at her. “I was so worried and yes, scared I would mess up but I didn’t and I have so much more confidence in myself.”
"Confidence in yourself is a good thing, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Andrea pointed out to him.
“Oh I won’t,” Harley nodded in agreement. “I have worked hard to get where I am.”
"Which is awesome." Andrea said, then went on. "I know you have worked hard, and I know there is a lot of work ahead of us. Just after one year. I feel that we have a long ways to go." Andrea pointed out to Harley.
“You are right,” Harley nodded. “I think we will always be learning don’t you? It’s never going to be easy.”
"I wonder if that will be true, when we are both Starship Captain's someday." Andrea said, with a grin. She liked the idea of Captain Andrea Winston, or perhaps Captain Andrea Jackson. Both had a good strong sounding presense to them. She was starting to get a head of herself, on the captain and wedding.
Especially the wedding. She was not ready yet to get married. She was still having fun, in the dating phase of the relationship. Down the road, she could see them tying the knot.
“I think a wise captain always leaves it open to learn,” Harley said with a smile. “And maybe I am pessimistic but I think there will always be hard times but good ones as well.”
"I think that is a very practical approach to take with Command. You have my full support." Andrea said, with a big grin on her face.
“See,” Harley smiled at her. “I like that we support one another. I am so glad we ended up here together.”
"As am I, and I am glad that you found your way into my heart." Andrea started to say, then caught herself. "Listen to me, trying to get all mushy. I need to stop that." She said, shaking her head. "We have to be ready to work, not sound all cute and romantic." She pointed out to him, and mainly to herself.
“It’s the truth though,” Harley said seriously. “You have my heart as well. I like to think we are with each other in spirt during our shifts.”
"I would like to think we are as well. But we need to establish that fine line, during working hours." Andrea suggested to him, finding it hard to avoid his delicate lips.
“I agree,” Harley nodded. “Professional when we are on duty, always.” He smiled then. “I would like to take a trip on the holodeck one night and do something together.”
Andrea decided to test, his committment to their newly found agreement. She started to lean in, to see what he would do. She found it hard to resist the urge herself.
Harley shook his head. “I am on duty.” He was holding on by a thread. “What did we just say?”
Not bad she thought, but clearly he was confused, she needed to be certain. She leaned in a little closer. Could he resist. She knew, she was barely able too. "I am not sure." She said, knowing that was a lie.
“We need to be professional at work,” Harley reminded her. “And I am having a hard time with you looking at me like that.”
"Very good." Andrea said, with a big grin on her face. "We passed our own test. There might be hope for us, after all." Andrea said, with a big grin on her face.
“We will always have hope,” Harley said with a smile. “It is what keeps us going.”
"Right, hope." Andrea said, as she leaned away, trying to remember that, as she smiled. The scene starts to fade away.
Harley smiled at her answer. She didn’t seem too convinced.
