Need scan time
S1, E1: Uprising
Location: Science Lab
Timeline: MD005 1330 hrs
Gregory walked into the science lab. He knew that Chelsea had just helped Zach fix one of his console. A console that Gregory wanted to borrow, to run some biological scans. "Back up and running?" Gregory as he walked into the science lab.
“Yes,” Zach nodded with a sigh of relief. He hated when there were issues with equipment but that happened it was why there was a need for engineers and they were lucky they had the best. “What are you up to?”
"I need some time with the sensor array." Gregory said, just coming out, and stating why he was there. He could tell by Zach's tone, he wanted him to stop beating around the bush.
“I just got it working,” Zach replied. “What do you want to use it for?” He knew he was being Nosey but he didn’t care.
"Need to track ship movements in the area, you know that boring strategic operations sort of things." Gregory said, with a big grin on his face.
“I get you there,” Zach nodded. “We all have our jobs to do, help yourself.”
"Thanks, I am hoping this wont take longer than a half hour or so." Gregory said, as walked over to the sensor array, to redirect the feed for his purposes.
Zach followed him over. “I have nothing going on at the moment, mind if I hang out and watch?”
"It's your lab." Gregory said, with a big grin on his face. "I just need about 30 minutes." He stated again, for the record.
Zach smiled in return. “It has been a quiet day other than having the one issue.” He watched as he worked. “How much longer you work today?”
"Till 1600 hours." Gregory said, with a big grin on his face. Afterwords, he was going to try to get a date in, with his lovely lady friend.
“Me too,” Zach replied. “I am going to see if I can have dinner with a woman of interest. “He was waiting to see if the gossip reached Gregory.
"You make it sound like she has committed a crime? What did she do? Steal your heart?" Gregory laughed, knowing that was the intention of Zach's comment.
“Lock, stock and barrel,” Zach replied with a grin. “I have never believed in love at first sight but one look at her and I just know she is it.”
'what an odd phrase' Gregory thought to himself, as he tried to dissect what Zach told him. "How did your first date go?" Gregory asked, he was curious if the girl was scared or inspired by his approach.
“It went good,” Zach smiled. “I didn’t tell her that, she would probably run and hide.” He knew that you didn’t tell a girl it was love at first sight in the first date.
"Wouldn't must ladies." Gregory said, with a big grin on his face. "I'm not sure any man can pull that off."
“They would,” Zach agreed with a nod. “It is best to take our time and get to know them first, let them decide how they feel.”
"I have to disagree, not sure any man can. But if you want to prove me, I say go for it." Gregory said, with a big grin.
Zach grinned back. “It sounded good is all. I have been looking forward to seeing her all day, I wonder what she is thinking.”
"Best not to do that, the woman's mind can be a dangerous thing to try to understand." Gregory suggested to him.
“Too true,” Zach murmured with a smile. “I would probably end up saying something totally wrong.”
"I think most men would, I know I would." Gregory said, with a big grin on his face. "Scan is almost complete." Gregory said, as the scene starts to end.
Zach stayed talking to him until Gregory was finished and then headed back to work.
